Australia – Changes to ACCU Scheme Animal Effluent Management method proposed
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is proposing a variation to the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative – Animal Effluent Management) Methodology Determination 2019 that would extend the crediting period to 15 years for certain non-biomethane projects under the method.

New South Wales – Amendments to strengthen land management proposed
The NSW Government has announced proposed amendments to the Land Management (Native Vegetation) Code 2018, and is seeking feedback from landholders and interested stakeholders. The amendments follow the release of the NSW Plan for Nature, and the commitment to adopt additional actions to strengthen environmental protections in the Land Management Framework. A discussion paper has been prepared.

Western Australia – Reforms to planning system proposed
The WA Government is proposing reforms to the state’s planning system and has released the Planning and Development Regulations Amendment (Review of Planning Instruments) Regulations 2025, as well as draft chapters of the WA Planning Manual, for public feedback. The changes aim to streamline local planning frameworks and ensure they remain contemporary and fit-for purpose.
