New South Wales – Workers compensation bill focusing on psychological injury introduced to parliament

The NSW Government has introduced the Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 to parliament, which aims to reform workers compensation systems to improve support for psychological injuries and mental health. Additionally, $344 million in funding will support a Workplace Mental Health package to provide further measures to support mental health in the workplace.

Tasmania – Proposed explosives regulation changes announced

The Tasmanian Government has released a consultation paper regarding proposed changes to the Explosives Regulations 2022. The potential changes would affect the storage, purchase limits, firing times, display approvals and availability of fireworks in Tasmania, particularly during state celebrations.

Victoria – Reforms to support modern methods of construction announced

The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking feedback from manufacturers, plumbers and consumers on draft reforms related to Modern Methods of Construction, such as modular buildings or prefabricated homes. This is part of the plan to reform the building system and support skilled and experienced practitioners to carry out safe and compliant work in Victoria.
