Australia – Chemical categorisation guidelines under review
The Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme is proposing a revision to the Industrial Chemicals Categorisation Guidelines, which would commence in September 2025. Feedback is sought on updates and changes to the list of chemicals with high hazards for categorisation, creating an annual update schedule, and editorial and minor changes. Comments close 5 December 2024.
Australia – WHS incident notification guidance to be developed
Safe Work Australia has consulted on guidance material for incident notification duties and the types of incidents that are notifiable under the model WHS Act. The guidance would support duty holders in understanding amendments to the model WHS Act, which are anticipated to be finalised in early 2025.

SafeWork NSW has released its strategic plan for the next five years, with the aim to secure safe and healthy workplaces, outline regulatory priorities and reforms, and identify high priority areas, among other things.
