Australia – Bill to change sexual harassment provisions proposed
The Australian Government has introduced a Bill to Parliament that intends to create a new prohibition on sexual harassment in the Fair Work Act 2009, and change the dispute resolution process, among other amendments. The prohibition would apply to sexual harassment in connection with work and encompasses workers, prospective workers and PCBUs. A provision for vicarious liability would also mean a principal can be liable for the actions of its employees and agents.

New Zealand – Health and safety representative elections to be legislated
The New Zealand Government has announced plans to introduce a Bill to Parliament that will allow for better worker health and safety representation. Under the Bill, a business will need to initiate an election if a worker asks for health and safety representatives. The Bill is expected to be introduced in late 2022.
