Victoria – Psychological hazards – New Psychological health regulations released
The VIC Government has announced the new Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (Psychological Health) 2025 have been made and will commence on 1 December. The regulations create new obligations about managing psychosocial hazards, such as bullying, sexual harassment and aggression in the workplace.

Western Australia – WHS – Statutory review of WHS Act 2020 underway – Open for comment until 28 Nov
The Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety is undertaking a statutory review of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 to examine its operation and effectiveness, and is inviting public feedback on a Discussion Paper. The three Regulations and the Codes of Practice under the Act are not included in this review.

Australia – Workplaces – Annual Safe Work Australia report released
Safe Work Australia has released its annual report detailing the improvements it has made to work health and safety and workers’ compensation across Australia in 2024-25. This includes drafting amendments to model WHS laws for broader incident notification, reviewing existing WHS laws, publishing WHS guidance and work under the National Return to Work Strategy 2020-2030.
