Victoria – Energy use – Victorian Access Regime update released
VicGrid has released the Victorian Access Regime Update which details the progress made towards the implementation of the rules, which are planned to come into effect in July 2027. The new rules will determine how renewable energy projects access the grid to better coordinate development.
Australia – Water – Review of Water Act underway
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is undertaking consultation as part of its review of the Water Act 2007. Feedback is sought on the issues related to the management of water resources in the Murray-Darling Basin as outlined in the discussion paper.

New South Wales – Mining – Bill for exploration and prospecting operations introduced
The NSW Government has introduced the Mining and Petroleum Legislation Amendment (Land Access) Bill 2026, to make provisions about access to land for prospecting operations under exploration licences and assessment leases, and other minor amendments.
