New South Wales – Mental health campaign and training announced

SafeWork NSW and Sydney FC have developed free tailored coaching resources for businesses, which will be delivered by The Black Dock Institute, to improve mental health awareness and encourage mentally healthy workplaces as part of its ‘Coaching, Training, Success!’ campaign

 


New South Wales – Public Health Regulations to be remade

The Ministry of Health has consulted on a Draft Public Health Regulation 2022 to replace the sunsetting Public Health Regulation 2012 and released a Regulatory Impact Statement for public comment. The Regulation provides for the installation, operation and maintenance of air-handling and water systems, among other things.

New South Wales – Draft Regulations to improve demolition licensing scheme released

The NSW Government has released the draft Work Health and Safety Amendment (Demolition Licensing) Regulation 2022, which is intended to improve safety standards and clarity, and will move the demolition licensing scheme from the repealed Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017. In addition, the draft Regulation would increase the licence duration to five years and ensure that demolition workers are appropriately trained.
