Natural Resources and Other Legislation (GDA2020) Amendment Bill 2019 introduced

The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy has introduced the Natural Resources and Other Legislation (GDA2020) Amendment Bill 2019 into Parliament. The Bill aims to update the location information used in natural resources and transport legislation from the 1994 data currently in use, to coincide with the new location of the Earth’s crust. It is expected that the new geocentric datum GDA2020 will be adopted by 30 June 2020.
