VIC - Licensing - Scheduled premises regulations released

The proposed Environment Protection (Scheduled Premises) Regulations 2017 have been released for public comment following a review of the current legislation. Proposed changes include, but are not limited to, requiring larger reprocessors of electronic waste and glass to obtain an EPA works approval and/or licence, limiting works approval and licence exemptions for new sources of emissions to air of fine particles (PM2.5), removing works approval and licensing requirements for premises that temporarily store asbestos and lower hazard liquid wastes, and clarifying the descriptions and thresholds relating to organic waste processing, intensive animal industries and beverage manufacturing.
