Understanding the Health and Safety Work Act 2015

  • Are you ISO 18001 or AS/NZS 4801 certified and operating in New Zealand?
  • Do you need to achieve compliance with AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 (Clause 4.3.2) requirements?

The Need for Change

Each year, 1 in 10 people are injured in New Zealand Workplaces, with 400 workers seriously injured. The New Zealand government has set a target of a 25 percent minimum reduction in workplace serious harm and fatalities by 2020.
To facilitate meeting this target, the New Zealand government has passed health and safety legislation that will see the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 be replaced with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 on April 4 2016.
The need for all organisations to acknowledge their current and future obligations under occupational safety and health legislation is imperative.
