Mineral industries - Regulatory Impact Statement for draft Regulations

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions has released a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) for consultation, to improve the overall quality of the proposed Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) (Mineral Industries) Regulations 2019. The proposed Regulations will replace the 2018 Interim Regulations, which are due to sunset on 30 June 2019, and will clarify work plan and rehabilitation plan requirements. More.

WA - Transition to work health and safety laws progressing

The Commission for Occupational Safety and Health has stated that it will consider draft consultative documents, following consultation on a Work Health and Safety Bill. Three sets of WHS Regulations have been drawn up for general industry, mining and petroleum. Major hazard facilities would remain under current legislation until the new WHS laws have been in place for two years. More.
