SafetyLaw is a web-based
information service that summarises occupational health and safety (OH&S)
duties in plain English.
Duties are conveniently grouped
both according to the main sections in AS 4801 (eg. risk assessment, records)
and also by workplace activity/hazard (eg. manual handling, working at
height).
SafetyLaw:
- Is ideal for people who are responsible for OH&S,
or who have one or more legal duties under Australian and New
Zealand jurisdictions, including employers, manufacturers, suppliers
and employees.
- Provides all relevant information including
duties and other supporting documents such as codes of practice,
guidelines and Australian/New Zealand Standards in convenient topic
groups.
- Gives sufficient detail so that the information can
be used directly as audit criteria or for training or for preparing
work instructions.
SafetyLaw summaries are fully referenced with hyperlinks to full-text legislation. Where appropriate, text is hyperlinked
to legal definitions and relevant third party references such as those
from state/territory authorities, Australian Safety and Compensation Council,
Australian/New Zealand Standards and other relevant authorities or industry
bodies.
SafetyLaw is indexed
and is a useful reference source for managers and OH&S specialists.
SafetyLaw is updated
every month and clients receive notification by email.
SafetyLaw comes with
free help desk support (phone and email) to assist you with general
queries about SafetyLaw or your legal obligations. Note, though, that
this is not a legal advisory service.
SafetyLaw satisfies AS4801
Clause 4.3.2 which requires an organisation to establish and maintain
procedures to:
- identify and access all OH&S legal obligations
that apply to its activities, products and services,
- ensure that the information is up to date,
- disseminate relevant information to employees.
SafetyLaw is a subscription
based service. A subscription allows an unlimited number of users to access SafetyLaw at any time. To date, we have more than 550
subscriptions.
