EnviroLaw is a web-based information service that summarises environmental duties from Australian and New Zealand jurisdictions in plain-English. We also customise each client's EnviroLaw by adding environmental duties from relevant local council laws and site licences, permits and agreements. EnviroLaw also lists sources of environmental due diligence ("other") requirements, including individual Australian and New Zealand Standards and EPA Publications. All duties are given in sufficient detail that they can be used directly as audit criteria or for training or preparing work instructions. EnviroLaw is indexed and is used as a useful reference source for managers and environmental specialists. EnviroLaw is updated monthly and clients receive notification of updates by email. Envirolaw comes with free help desk support (phone and email) to assist clients with queries about EnviroLaw or their legal obligations. Note, though, this is not a legal advisory service. EnviroLaw satisfies ISO 14001:2004 Clause 4.3.2 which requires an organisation to establish and maintain procedures to:
EnviroLaw has received much favourable comment from companies using it, EPAs in some states who subscribe to it and other Government authorities who use it. It is also strongly supported by ISO 14001 certification auditors who have evaluated it. Many new clients have come from referrals from auditors and existing clients. EnviroLaw is a subscription-based service. The subscription allows an unlimited number of users to access EnviroLaw at any time. To date, more than 650 subscriptions to EnviroLaw have been sold.
